How to get in, what the words mean, and what to do when something goes wrong.

What BlubPay is
A joke currency from 2020, back as an iPhone app. Members splash blubs to each other, fish for what they are owed, and bet them in pots inside their Schools. BlubCoin has no monetary value and cannot be purchased or exchanged.
Getting in
BlubPay needs an iPhone on iOS 26 or later and Sign in with Apple. After signing in you are a Small Fry until you enter an invite code from a member or tap Request access and the Bank of Blub lets you in. New members start with one Feeding Time, 100 blubs.
The words
- BlubCoin, blubs
- The currency. Whole numbers only.
- Splash
- Sending blubs.
- Fish for it
- Asking someone for blubs. They can accept or decline.
- Feeding Time
- 100 blubs for every member, Fridays at noon Eastern.
- School
- A group of members. Pots live inside a School.
- Pot
- A bet inside a School: a question, a few options, one stake for everyone. Only the pot’s creator can call the result or cancel it.
- Big Fish
- The leaderboard, world-wide and per School.
- Bubble
- A notification.
- Bank of Blub
- The mint, run by the admins. It holds every pot and approves access.
- Swim away
- Delete your account.
Pay links
A link such as blubpay.com/@handle opens the Splash screen with that member filled in when you have the app. Requests (/r/…), School codes (/s/…) and Blub Cards (/c/…) work the same way. Without the app, the link shows a page like this one that says where to get it.
If a link opens in Safari instead of the app, reinstall BlubPay once: iOS checks for the site’s link file when the app is installed.
Deleting your account
Open Settings in the app and choose Swim away. Your blubs go back to the Bank of Blub and your account, profile, handle, devices and School seats are deleted. The privacy page has the details.
